Vishwakavi Kuvempu First Grade College

VISHWAKAVI KUVEMPU FIRST GRADE COLLEGE established in the year 1997 is one of the leading institutions offering excellent quality education in Commerce, Management and Arts courses promoted by Kuvempu Vidya Parishat, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysore – 570012. It was founded by Vishwakavi Kuvempu’s Disciple and protégé Karnataka Rathna DEJAGOW on 29.12.1964. At Present has been promoting quality education, literature and cultural activities all through fifty years of existence. It has spread around 31.5 acres of lush green campus. Many institutions are promoted by the trust ranging from primary education to doctoral research.  The Educational Institutions give more prominence to education and holistic development of the young minds. The college is affiliated to University of Mysore and offers merit scholarship based on a first come first serve basis covering 50% to 100% of the tuition fees for the students of all courses. The college also provides cultural and sports scholarships to encourage students.

About Trust

Sri Kuvempu Vidya Vardaka Trust, Jayalakshmipuram, was founded in the year 1964. Sri Kuvempu Vidya Parishat is an offshoot of the Trust and established in the year 1972.

Trust was founded under a stewardship of Chief Justice of Karnataka Justice H. Hombegowda. The first president was N. Bhadraiah. UNESCO Expert and Consultant. Karnataka  Rathna Dr. D.Javare Gowda (Dejagow) former Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore was the president for 3 decades.  Presently it is headed by Prof. J. Shashidhara Prasad, Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore and Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Puttaparthi.

 

The trust Possesses 31.5 acres of lush green campus in the heart of the city.

 Trust owns properties at Siddartha layout, Mysuru which is 3.25 acres, Gokulam, Mysuru with 4.5 acres, Kuvempunagar with 2 acres and at Mudugere, Chanpatna with 2.5 acres of land.

The Trust has been a Precursor to Sri Kuvempu Pratishtana at Kuppali and Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi, Banglore.

  • Brundavan High School, Brundavan Extention, Mysuru in the year 1975.
  • Sri Kuvempu High School, Kuvempu Nagar, Mysuru in 1980.
  • Vishwa Manava High School, Chanapattana, Ramanagara District in the year 1991.
  • Sri Vivekananda Pre-University College, Jayalakshmi puram, Mysuru established in 1991 programs offered PUC- Science, Commerce and Arts.
  • Vishwakavi Kuvempu First Grade College, Jayalakshmi Puram, Mysure in the year 1997 courses offered B.Com, B.B.A, and B.A .
  • Phil programs from Hampi University from the year 2005-06
  • Doctoral Programs from IGNOU approved for Languages in the year 2009-10.
